Tile

The first thing to do with tile is make sure your subfloor is screwed and glued.  You want your tile to be laid on a nice tight surface that will not flex or bend.  Do a practice layout of tile on floor and decide where your cut tiles will lay.  It is best to lay cut tiles under vanities or other hidden areas away from doorway entry's.  Look at your pattern.  If you are laying a slate tile make sure you don't have any of the same tiles right next to each other.  Make sure you don't step on any tiles for 24 hours after thin set has been applied.  You can buy descent tile at home depot or Lowes.  We decided to spend the extra money on better tile for our master bathroom and hallways.  Also our kitchen backsplash.  The rest of bathrooms we used a cheaper tile from home depot.  I would recommend installing tile anywhere and avoid laminates.  Tile can last forever so the price you pay is worth it.
