FireSprinklers

Oh man I have to install fire sprinklers in my house.  Ya I was not happy about this at all.  But now that my house is done, I can say it does give me a peace of mind knowing that my family is safe.  This was a procedure that I hired a professional contractor to do the work.  The thought of having live pressured water lines throughout my house worried me.  For this reason I researched and reference checked the hell out of my contractor.  I am glad  I did because a ton of design goes into them. The contractor will have made a design and submitted with permits.  They also have to pay for a separate permit.  Through the inspection process they checked nozzle head placement, flow test, and pressure test.  Once these are done another inspection is done after insulation is installed.  They call this sprinkler tenting and my insulation crew had no idea on how to do this correctly.  Looking back I see some of the bids I got had sprinkler tenting included in the bid.  This may not be a bad idea to have the system installer also do the sprinkler tenting.  I had to have the inspector come back twice to get this signed off.  Since I did not do this work myself  I am not going to tell you how to do it.  Just make sure you have a very experienced contractor on this step.  Water can cause a ton of damage and its not something you want to half ass yourself.
