Carpet

Picking carpet can also be tough.  Make sure you get a high quality carpet.  There is a huge difference in carpet and how stain resistant it can be.  Put at least a 8lb pad down so your floor is nice and cushy.  I bought my carpet through a contractor only company and got a great discount.  Then  I paid for labor for installation.  When installing carpet make sure the heat is cranked up so the carpet can stretch real good.  This eliminates wrinkling in carpet.  I couldn't believe how hot my installers wanted it and they were sweating like crazy.  I do not have one wrinkle in my carpet.  Although my pup Rottweiler has chewed up some carpet on my stairs.  I guess I cant really blame that on the type of carpet or installation.
